Dear friends and fellow magicians,
Welcome to another year in the history of IBM Ring 71! We will be celebrating our 75th year in 2012, and we will have a special event to celebrate this anniversary later this season.
We had a board meeting in July to plan the Ring activities for the coming year. These plans include:

Both the number (quantity) and quality of the ring lectures depend on the dollars to be budgeted for those lectures. In turn, the dollars we can budget is dependent primarily on the membership dues and guest lecture fees collected. Both lecture fees and lodging expenses have increased each year. To help increase the Ring revenues and meet these increased expenses, the Board voted to increase the guest fees for the lectures to fifteen dollars ($15). For five lectures, this would be seventy-five dollars ($75), so the thirty-five dollar ($35) annual membership dues is a great bargain.
Membership dues were due July 1. If you have not sent your dues in yet, or you want to join the Ring, please do so now. Having these dues as early as possible gives the board members a better idea on the yearly revenues to help plan Ring activities.
We are currently scheduling the lectures for this upcoming year. If you have any suggestions or possibilities for a lecture please contact me.
