Dear friends and fellow magicians,
First, a huge thank you to our Secretary, Jeff Brown, who organized and coordinated our community outreach program at New Richmond Elementary School. This program provided recognition of the school’s literacy program successes. We played a part in the celebration on two separate days. On March 1st, Chuck Arkin and Don Hinton performed strolling close-up magic for the school, and then on March 25th, the team of Jeff Brown, Don Hinton, Larry Payne, and Sir Patrick presented a combination of stage shows, magic lectures, and magic storytelling to the students. It was a resounding success!
Our March meeting featured magician, juggler and classically trained actor David Kovac, presenting a thought-provoking lecture on “Acting for Magicians”. David showed us, in very entertaining fashion, that the manner of your presentation, and how you positively connect with the audience, are key ingredients to a successful show. David presented a great combination of tricks, philosophy, and practical methods for both experienced and aspiring magicians.
